I had the wonderful opportunity of interviewing Helen Baller teachers about what they love about their school community. I put the interviews together and got to present it at their end of year assembly. I am hoping to get young minds thinking about community around them and reminding everyone how important it is to be here for each other. Building community together. Enjoy!

Great conversation with Josy Wright from Waste Connections about recycling! Recycling the RIGHT way and the RIGHT stuff! The biggest problem right now is what Josy calls “wishful recyclers.” Putting things in that big blue bin that shouldn’t go there. It messes up the system, inhibits our recycling process and really causes so many problems. Please tune into this interview and see if there are any tips and tricks that can help how you recycle at home or at your business. Also, did you know Waste Connections has an app? They do! You can look up all kinds of things and make sure you are recycling items right. How awesome! Thank you for tuning in and supporting Just a Girl in Camas. Let’s spread the word about recycling and share this video.
Tune in to part two of my interview with Denis Hayes, the coordinator of the first Earth Day. He talks about that day back in 1970 when he started the morning with a sunrise ceremony with Native Americans. What group of people do you think rose to the challenge and helped create the awareness and movement of “Earth Day?” Watch and find out.

I journeyed north to Seattle in January to meet with Denis Hayes, the coordinator of the first Earth Day. He is now President of the Bullitt Foundation. Denis grew up in Camas, WA and I wanted to talk to Denis about his experience coordinating that first Earth Day back in 1970. How did it happen? What did he learn? How did this opportunity present itself? Listen in as Denis shares his story and how you need to grab the brass ring, when the ring is there. I hope this interview inspires you to take chances, look outside the box and think of what YOU can do to make a difference somewhere in the world. This is part 1 of a 6 part series.
Special thanks to Double Pixel Studios for their amazing video and edit work.
