I had the wonderful opportunity of interviewing Helen Baller teachers about what they love about their school community. I put the interviews together and got to present it at their end of year assembly. I am hoping to get young minds thinking about community around them and reminding everyone how important it is to be here for each other. Building community together. Enjoy!
Had a great time chatting with Tim Fellows who has spent the last 5 years as a School Resource Officer for the Camas School District. He sees first hand how wonderful our students and staff are in our district, and also where we need to be involved and aware to help our students that are struggling. Please tune in and hear about Tim’s time with the schools and his advice for us as parents. Please like and share the good news to our community! xo
I had the wonderful honor of getting to chat with the advisors and senior officers of the DECA club at Camas High School. This group of young people are AMAZING. From the moment they walked into the room and came up to shake my hand and make eye contact with me I was impressed. Listen in to hear about their experiences with DECA and what makes this such an amazing program!
My co-anchor Brooksley and I sat down with some pretty great 1st graders at Helen Baller to talk about Earth Day, what they love about the Earth and some ideas about how to make it better! Listening to these kids will lift your spirit and hopefully inspire you to take part in keeping our Earth fabulous. Earth Day is April 22nd this year. What will you do on that day and everyday to make this Earth better?
Last spring I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Grass Valley Elementary and talk to the students about the teachers in their community and what THEY can do in their community to make it better, brighter and stronger. This was such a fun day! I got to interview two teachers, the principal and have a dance party at the end. Check out the fun at Grass Valley Elementary! Check out this teacher in the photo! Special shout out to one amazing teacher at Grass Valley Elementary, Juli Hanson. You rock! Your love for the kids and top notch teaching amazes me.
Hey there! If you haven’t attended the CEF (Camas Education Foundation) Auction yet, this should be your year. I chatted with Alison Benjamin, the auction chair, about the fun night and all of the great items that are up for bid. I also had the opportunity to talk with Dr. Cathy Sork, the principal at Dorothy Fox Elementary about how the grants through CEF have benefited their school. Listen in to this fun interview with these great ladies. Mark March 18th on your calendar. It’s going to be fun!
Last week I checked in with Camas High School head football coach Jon Eagle and seniors Caleb Eldred and Jack Colletto. So fun following the Camas football team this year as they have a 8-0 record so far. Learn more from the coach and players about this year’s team and how they look at the season one game at a time. If you haven’t heard this is the first year for the Camas based middle school, The Gryphons. It opened this fall to 120 students who are learning lessons and meeting state standards in a project based learning environment. I got to check out the campus and sit down with the principal Aaron Smith to talk about how this school is doing and what is on the horizon. What an amazing and wonderful option for our youth here in Camas. Listen in and see what you think!
I had the wonderful opportunity to sit down and chat with three special individuals at Camas High School and talk about the upcoming production Chemogirl and other Plays! that will be showcased on Friday, October 7th at Camas High School Auditorium. House opens at 6:30 and the curtain goes up at 7:00. All proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Light the Night walk to help support research for blood cancers. What a great fundraiser for our community to rally around. Raising funds for cancer research and supporting Camas High School Theater. Please consider supporting.
I’ve heard about this teacher for years and decided it was time to feature this great guy in our community that teaches science and track at Skyridge Middle School. Tune in and listen to my interview with Mr. Condon and hear about his time teaching and about how he cares about the kids he teaches. Very inspirational. It’s teachers like this that make a difference. Thank you for all you do Mr. Condon. Have a great summer everyone!
